Introducing Brokers & the AIBW

The Association of Introducing Brokers (AIBW) was set up by Pierre Boulle of investorseurope to represent, promote and protect Introducing Brokers (IBs) throughout the financial industry.

The aim is for AIBW members to span the financial industry. Membership is encouraged from within the ranks of Commodity Trading Advisors (CTAs), Futures and Equity Traders, Regulated Institutions and news and trading platform vendors.

Prior to the setting up of the AIBW, Introducing Brokers (IBs) had no representation within the industry. The intention is that the AIBW fill this vacuum:

• by serving Introducing Brokers and Introducing Broker interests

• by setting benchmarks in terms of ethics, self regulation and professionalism

As it develops, a fundamental part of the AIBW's longer term goal will equally be to define, demarcate and strengthen the Introducing Broker's stature within the global financial market place and to give Introducing Brokers greater strength to protect their own interests en masse for the long term. It is also intended and planned that the AIBW should play the role of catalyst so as to stimulate discussion between its member IBs and Regulators, whenever and wherever relevant.

The  second fundamental foundation stone of the AIBW is the external projection to Introducing Brokers of Gibraltar as it is: an offshore jurisdiction of the highest quality, a fit environment, indeed, from which to organise and progressively expand the AIBW and the interests of Introducing Brokers.
